WonderTree provides sensory play experiences designed for children aged 8 months to 5+ years. Activities support creativity, exploration, and developmental growth through play.

WHAT IS SENSORY PLAY AND WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?

Sensory play activates a child’s senses—touch, sight, sound, and more—encouraging exploration, independence, and confidence. It fosters problem-solving skills, fine motor development, and creativity in a fun, hands-on way.

WHERE ARE SESSIONS LOCATED?

Sensory Sessions take place at various locations in Charlotte, NC, and the surrounding areas. Birthday parties are mobile and available for families in the Charlotte area.

WHAT DOES A TYPICAL SESSION LOOK LIKE?

Each Sensory Session is child-led, allowing children to explore and play freely at their own pace. Upon arrival, families are greeted and introduced to three sensory trays made entirely with taste-safe materials. The session is designed as a “yes space” where children can create, explore, and imagine without limits.

DO GUARDIANS NEED TO STAY DURING THE SESSION?

Yes, guardians are required to stay with their child. This is a wonderful opportunity to observe and connect with children as they explore and discover.

WHAT IF MY CHILD DOESN'T LIKE MESSY PLAY OR MESSY HANDS?

If messy play isn’t a favorite, simple adjustments can make the experience enjoyable. Tools like kitchen utensils or scoops can be used to interact with materials without direct hand contact.

WHAT SHOULD BE BROUGHT TO A SESSION?

Items to bring include wipes or a towel, a change of clothes, and water or a snack for the child. These small preparations help ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience.

ARE THE MATERIALS TASTE-SAFE FOR BABIES AND TODDLERS?

Yes, all sensory materials are taste-safe. This allows little ones, even those in the mouthing or teething stage, to fully explore safely.

CAN SIBLINGS OF DIFFERENT AGES JOIN THE SAME SESSION?

Yes, siblings of different ages are welcome. Mixed-age play is encouraged and can create meaningful learning and bonding opportunities.

HOW IS REGISTRATION HANDLED?

Registration is available online. Families can select a preferred date and location, making it easy to secure a spot.
